Theophan the Recluse
The same series of emotions, rooted in love, simultaneously serves as a testimony and affirmation of themselves, aimed at pleasing God through complete submission to the will of His Savior, Protector, and Father. This reflects love for God, who holds His commandments in His heart and soul (Deuteronomy 6:5-6); who elevates and honors Him as a son who consistently performs deeds that are good and pleasing in His sight (Deuteronomy 13:18, Deuteronomy 32:3-6, Leviticus 19:12). Such a person can confidently expect His unique assistance and protection, assured that all promised blessings will indeed be fulfilled, provided they do not rebel against the Lord (Numbers 14:8-9). Ultimately, the Lord will uphold His covenant and mercy only when His decrees are observed (Deuteronomy 7:12).
