Observe how the sacred lineage receives little regard among the populace, distinguishing itself not solely by the act of serving, but also by the disparity in aspirations. For those who live for worldly matters, who cling to transient desires that fade like a mere shadow, it can rightly be proclaimed, 'This is your share; this is your fate, your portion determined by Me, says the Lord' (Jeremiah 13:25). Conversely, for those who choose a life of holiness and integrity, already designated for the sake of righteousness, it is appropriate to declare, 'In their territory you shall have no inheritance, nor shall you possess a share among them; I am your portion and your inheritance,' says the Lord (Num. 18:20; Deut. 10:9; 18:1).

Likewise, the Redeemer responded to an individual who inquired about obtaining 'eternal life': 'You are familiar with the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal," and so forth; and when the Redeemer affirmed that he had adhered to all these mandates and inquired, "What do I still lack?" Jesus replied, "If you wish to be complete, go, sell your belongings, and give to the needy; then you will treasure in heaven, and come, follow me'" (Mark 10:17-21; Matthew 19:16-21). Hence, those who aspire to serve the Lord undistracted must disengage from worldly affairs, acknowledge Him as their true inheritance, and immerse themselves in hope in Him, as expressed in the Psalms: 'Delight yourself in the Lord... Commit your way to the Lord... and He will act' (Psalm 36:4-5). Likewise, the offerings designated for the Levites are seen as compensation for the diligence of their ministry, for their work is rewarded for the saints, bringing chosen accolades and splendid rewards. 'Do not be concerned,' the Redeemer instructs, 'about your life, what you will eat or drink, nor about your body, what you will wear... But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you' (Matthew 6:25; 33).
