One Church Father comments on this verse

Nestor the Chronicler

12th centuryChurch Father

Vladimir inquired, “Where is your homeland?” They responded, “In Jerusalem.” He then asked, “Is it truly there?” They explained, “The Lord was displeased with our ancestors and dispersed us across various nations due to our transgressions, handing over our land to the Christians.” Vladimir remarked, “How can you instruct others while you yourself are forsaken by God and scattered? If the Lord cherished you and your laws, you would not be residing in foreign lands. Do you wish for the same fate to befall us?”
