The extent of God's patience was realized: ‘And the Lord brought against Jerusalem the commanders of the armies of the Assyrian king, and they captured Manasseh, binding him with shackles on his feet, and led him away to Babylon,’ where he was held in captivity. The Lord ensured that the evil king faced consequences for his actions. The Assyrians seized him, shackled him with two chains, and in this shameful state, akin to an animal, transported him to Babylon, where he was ultimately imprisoned.
