The attire of the faithful represents our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are baptized into Christ are truly adorned with Him (Galatians 3:27). The Lord will remove this divine garment from those who sin against the Body and Blood of the Covenant (cf. Heb. 10:29). The imagery of this attire can be seen in the pristine garments of the Israelites as described in Deuteronomy: "Your garments shall not wear out, and your sandals shall not tear on your feet," for the sandals are symbols of the readiness of the gospel of peace. The New Covenant that Christ Jesus established remains ever new and does not age. The more we wear this robe and these sandals, the more they rejuvenate. Within us, as our faith in Christ grows, there is a continual renewal in the preparation of the gospel.

And the Lord has not granted you a spirit to comprehend, nor eyes to perceive, nor ears to listen. The Jews, akin to Pharaoh and even more so, were wicked, and just as Pharaoh faced judgment, they too find themselves under condemnation. The phrase, “Ye shall not give,” is associated with references to attire and footwear: “Your garments shall not wear out, and your shoes shall not come undone upon your feet;” and again, “And they shall worship other gods that have not been designated for you;” indicating that the Hebrews were not intended to serve these deities or honor them, hinting that these other gods have been assigned to the gentile nations.
