To enter and exit signifies the act of leading and teaching. In this context, Moses employs this phrase when he, in his advanced years, realizes that he lacks the vigor needed to oversee the people. He declared, ‘I am this day a hundred and twenty years old: I can no longer go out and come in,’ meaning he was unable to govern them or continue to shoulder the responsibility of their care.
