The Lord observed and was filled with jealousy, experiencing wrath against the sons and daughters for having struck some prophets and harmed others. As it is written, “Let all the blood that was shed from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar, come upon you” (Matt. 23:35).
