Why did Moses choose not to bless Simeon? The reason behind Reuben's blessing stemmed from his genuine brotherly affection, which led Moses to honor the oath concerning him. Levi received his blessing due to the esteemed Moses himself. Furthermore, the tribe that accepted the oaths of others also acknowledged its own vow. However, Simeon lacked a valid justification for receiving such a blessing. I believe he was primarily responsible for the wrongdoing against Joseph; this is evidenced by the fact that it was he who was singled out, bound, and imprisoned, while the other brothers were released by that remarkable figure. Nevertheless, Simeon was included in the overarching blessing since Moses blessed not just each tribe individually but also the entire nation collectively. Israel will dwell secure, trusting solely in the land of Jacob, a land abundant with wine and wheat; the heavens will be rich with dew. Moses also added many further blessings to this communal declaration.
