The bases of the boards kept the wood elevated, preventing it from touching the ground and thus avoiding decay. These bases together created a unified foundation, which, as referred to in the translation of the Seventy, became the intricate decoration of the Tabernacle. Each bar was equipped with two spikes at its base, and a distinct footrest was crafted for every spike. At the corners of the Tabernacle, the boards were linked through rings, which served as the sole connection between the rear and side walls. As we will explore further, the walls were interconnected through staves that ran through all the boards. While the exact method of how the corner rings were joined remains unclear, one might speculate that they were secured either with bolts or alternatively tied together with chains or cords.
