The sockets of the boards elevated the wood above the soil, protecting it from deterioration. Collectively, these sockets created a unified foundation, serving as an elaborate adornment for the Tabernacle, as noted in the translation of the Seventy. Each bar was equipped with two supports at its base, with a designated footpiece crafted for every support. The corner boards of the Tabernacle were joined by rings, which served as the sole linkage between the rear wall and the side walls. The walls were interconnected through staves that traversed all the boards, as will be elaborated further. While the exact method of connecting the rings on the corner beams is uncertain, it is reasonable to hypothesize that they were either bolted or linked by chains or cords.
