At times, a single image, action, or declaration can convey multiple meanings. For instance, the believers are represented by the timber selected for the construction of the ark, as well as by the eight souls that were preserved within that ark (1 Pet. 3:20). Similarly, in the Gospel, Christ embodies both the Shepherd and the Door for His flock (John 10:7,11).

The bases of the boards safeguarded the wood from touching the earth and from deterioration. Collectively, these bases created a unified foundation, referred to as such by the translation of the Seventy, which enhanced the elaborate design of the Tabernacle. It becomes evident that each bar featured two pegs at its base, with a designated support crafted for each peg. At the corners of the Tabernacle, the boards were joined by rings, serving as the sole link between the rear wall and the side walls. As will be discussed further, the walls were interconnected through staves that passed through all the boards. While the precise method of how the rings at the corner beams were linked remains unclear, one might reasonably envisage that they were either bolted together or linked by chains or cords.
