The enclosure of the tabernacle. On one long side, the curtain measured 100 cubits (150 feet), supported by 20 pillars, resulting in a gap of five cubits (7.5 feet) between each pillar. Connective elements, likely staves, were placed between them (vv. 10 and 17), and the drape of fine white linen (v. 9) was arranged on these pillars using silver staves (v. 10) attached via silver hooks (id). The tops of the pillars were also adorned with silver (Exodus 38:17). In the front of the enclosure, there were only three posts on either side, upon which the continuation of the linen drape was suspended. A passage measuring twenty cubits in width was left open for the entrance.
