The anointing of the High Priest and the sanctification of the tabernacle took place over a week, during which neither Aaron nor his sons, the priests, were permitted to leave the enclosure of the tabernacle. In the book of Exodus, the overarching laws and commandments are presented, highlighting not only Aaron but also his successors. Each individual responsible for consecration was required to remain within the divinely appointed space for the sacred period of seven days.
