The common peace offering was permitted to be consumed in any ceremonially clean location and could include leavened bread (Leviticus 5:14–15; 2:13). In contrast, this specific sacrifice was restricted to the priests, to be eaten exclusively at the entrance of the tabernacle, accompanied by unleavened bread (refer to verse 2), with any leftovers designated for burning, as it was considered holy. Notably, only the priests were authorized to consume the flesh of the sin offering, which is designated as ‘the most holy item’ (Leviticus 5:14; 2:6), underscoring its sacred significance.
