The regular peace-offering could be consumed in any ceremonially clean location and could include leavened bread, as stated in Leviticus 5:13. However, in this instance, the offering was designated exclusively for the priests, to be eaten at the entrance of the tabernacle, accompanied by unleavened bread, as described in verse 2. Any leftover portions were to be incinerated, for it is sacred. It is noteworthy that only the priests were permitted to partake of the flesh from the sin-offering, referred to in Leviticus 5:13 and 6:6 as “the great holy thing.”
