In Leviticus 1:9, it is noted that specific portions of the offering were to be cleansed; verses 19 and 29 further indicate that the priests were required to wash their hands and feet prior to engaging in any sacred service. Additionally, Leviticus 16:4 specifies that on the purification day, before entering the Most Holy Place, the high priest was to cleanse his entire body and don the sacred white attire. The principle of physical purity, which involves the consistent observance of one’s actions, relates intimately to moral purity. This was not only a foundational aspect of Israelite law but also a guiding principle for all humanity.
