In your innermost being, all the subsequent afflictions leading up to the final one will become a source of distress for you. Unlike the earlier calamities, you will find them much harder to dismiss. The Lord notes that you still believe you have incurred the anger of one of your false gods, presuming that you stand before the likeness of those idols or the natural forces you recognize as divine. Understand this: there is none comparable to me, for I alone am Sovereign over heaven and earth.
