The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

The prophet declares, if you had been unaware of the judgment that befell the cities of Sodom, if their ultimate ruin had not been recounted, just as your own siege is being talked about in the regions of Syria and Palestine; would you have committed even greater wrongs? Their fate did not serve as a warning for you, for despite being aware of their reckless actions and the disasters that struck them, you persisted in your wickedness.
