A corrupted currency that contains a mixture of different materials is referred to as half-copper (ὑποχάλκον). Thus, the Lord declares, Since you have not merely added a minor element of wickedness to my commandments, but have infused so much brass that the gold is no longer visible, leading your entire coin to appear as brass; I will ultimately withdraw my protection from you and envelop you in disgrace, administering consequences for your various transgressions, particularly for the unjust killing of children, whom you have offered up to cruel demons.
