Their offspring, having turned away from the teachings of their ancestors, I guided in the wilderness with my wisdom, urging them to estrange themselves from their fathers' customs, to recognize my authority, to abide by my commandments, to uphold the righteous decrees provided, to demonstrate their unique way of life by observing the Sabbaths, and, through adherence to the law, to draw near to the Lawgiver. Yet, they continued to ignore these statutes. And God, revealing these truths to them, proclaimed:
