Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

They were not satisfied with their wrongdoing in Egypt or with their sins in the desert; when they arrived in the land that had been promised to them, they filled it with immense corruption, constructing altars on every hill and in every grove, setting up idols, and presenting drink offerings and different sacrifices to them. It is noted, And teach them the anger of their offerings, meaning that their unrighteous offerings have incited My wrath.
