Theodoret of Cyrus

She did not abandon her sexual immorality after leaving Egypt, for she had been preserved in her youth, and they violated her purity, saturating her with their sexual sins. This means that by engaging with the Assyrians and embracing their idolatrous practices, she did not disregard the teachings of Egypt but instead maintained them with great diligence. In this way, having outlined the various forms of evil, God demonstrates the righteousness of His judgment.
