This would have come to pass had the Jews desired it. However, due to their furious opposition to the Lord, they rendered the prophecy unfulfilled. As a result, the prophecy stands intact and true; for the Almighty had previously declared through the Prophet Jeremiah, “I will make a river for the tongue and the kingdom at the end, that I may raise it up and plant it. And they shall do evil before Me, that will not hearken unto My voice: and I will repent of the good things which I have spoken to them to do” (Jeremiah 18:9, 10). Therefore, it is the Jews who bear the responsibility for not embracing the blessings foretold in the prophecy.
