God instructs that the priests should be granted land on the outskirts of the city, extending ten thousand cubits from east to west and twenty-five thousand cubits from north to noon, so they may utilize the tithes and offerings of the firstborn as it is written, and find comfort in the land, enabling them to live in peace, uphold righteousness, seek no excess, and avoid causing offense to the people. As emphasized in Ezekiel 45:9, the leaders of Israel are urged to cast aside wickedness and malice, ensuring justice and righteousness prevail, while removing violence from among the people, declares the Lord Adonai.

He then presents commandments regarding measures and weights, stressing that fairness and equity must be maintained in these matters, instructing that there is to be one standard for receiving and giving. He specifies that a kor consists of ten homors, with each homor containing ten quinixes, totaling one hundred quinixes in a kor, and notes that an ephah is equivalent to a quinix. It is ordained that fifty shekels make a mina, with each shekel comprising twenty ovols. He designates ten kotyls of oil as a homor, which represents one-tenth of a korah.

He commands that the offerings of wheat and barley shall amount to one-sixth of the homor, which is half of the medimn, as there are thirty medimn in a korah and the homor is one-tenth of the specified korah. Therefore, it follows that a homor should contain three medimn, making the sixth part of three medimn equal to half a medimn.

It is decreed that from ten kotyls, one kotyl shall be offered, and likewise, a tenth part of a sheep shall be contributed. All these gifts are to be presented to the elders for the necessary sacrifices, enabling them to conduct offerings on feasts, new moons, and Sabbaths, and to intercede before God on behalf of the people. He further instructs what sacrifices should be conducted in the new month of the tenth month, on the fourteenth day, and even in the seventh month, calling the offerings in the seventh month sacrifices. As stated: “The sacrifice of unleavened bread to the calf, and of unleavened bread to the ram, and of oil to the unleavened calf,” and as I have discovered in the Syrian translation, the term is synonymous with gemina.
