John Chrysostom
The angels journeyed to Sodom, as previously mentioned, while the patriarch positioned himself before the Lord.
And they turned themselves from thence, and went their way to Sodom: but Abraham as yet stood before the Lord.

Abraham remained in the presence of the Lord. Onkelos suggests that he was engaged in prayer before God. Indeed, to stand in God's presence can often signify offering prayers, as noted in Jeremiah 15:1. However, the term "still" indicates that the author is primarily referring to Abraham's ongoing physical posture before the God who had revealed Himself.
The two heavenly messengers who had journeyed with the Lord departed from Him, and that same evening came to Sodom, not merely to observe the iniquities of the city on His behalf, but also to deliver Lot and his family and to carry out judgment upon the wicked inhabitants. After sending away the others, the Lord stayed with Abraham, providing him the opportunity to show his empathy and love for those facing impending doom. Abraham stood before Him as the Sovereign Lord of the universe and the Judge of humanity, in a stance of one prepared to plead for the people.
