One Church Father comments on this verse

John Chrysostom

4th centuryChurch Father

Upon seeing the man by the well alongside the camels, he invited him, saying, Come in, O favored of the Lord: why do you remain outside? I have arranged a dwelling and accommodations for the camels. Observe how he blesses the Lord before the outsider and offers him significant caution through his words even prior to extending the act of hospitality.
