One Church Father comments on this verse

John Chrysostom

4th centuryChurch Father

Upon seeing the man by the well with the camels, he called to him, saying, Come in, O favored of the Lord; why do you remain outside? I have arranged a home and accommodations for the camels. Observe how he also praises the Lord in front of the unfamiliar guest, offering him significant counsel through his words even before extending physical hospitality.
