John Chrysostom
The remarkable Joseph, unaware of his brothers' hostility, embraced them as siblings and shared his dreams, through which God disclosed his forthcoming glory and the eventual humility of his brothers before him.
And he said to them: Hear my dream which I dreamed.

The remarkable Joseph, unaware of his brothers' hostility, embraced them as siblings and shared his dreams, through which God disclosed his forthcoming glory and the eventual humility of his brothers before him.
The accusations and insults stemming from a malicious and envious tongue represented only minor conflicts and the initial stages of evil intentions; however, they grew to intense animosity due to a significant reason: God had revealed to the young man that he would ultimately achieve glory and be distinguished above his siblings, adorned with the highest honors. This was, I believe, a motivation to inspire within the youth a yearning for righteousness.
Just as trainers of athletics, who anoint young competitors, instill in them immense courage and encourage them to face challenges bravely by informing them of the rewards generously bestowed upon victors by the overseers of the contests, so too does the Almighty, upon observing a gifted spirit characterized by a tested and radiant intellect, summon it toward good deeds, foreseeing the potential ahead and fostering a willingness for virtue. In this manner, a divine vision and voice once visited this young man, namely Joseph, who, I believe, in his astonishment shared this revelation with his brothers.
He did not comprehend the anguish that had befallen them; his unblemished spirit viewed them as pure and well-intentioned. He extended his heart to them with complete trust. This innocent heart had already been selected by God to serve as a vessel for profound revelations. The grace of the Holy Spirit, in tune with Joseph's youthful days, began to unveil itself through significant dreams. Unusual visions were vividly etched by a mysterious hand in the imagination of the virgin. Joseph was seventeen years old when he experienced his inaugural prophetic dream. With an openness that harbored no suspicion, he shared it with his brothers; it was clear that the dream had left an extraordinary impact on the young man's soul that sought understanding. He desired to gather his elder brothers to hear this interpretation.
