One Church Father comments on this verse

Ambrose of Milan

4th centuryChurch Father

They arranged gifts to welcome Joseph at midday. Paul's faith accelerated the arrival of that hour. Initially blinded, he later perceived the Radiance of righteousness (See Acts 9:1-21), for when a person opens themselves to the Lord and places their trust in Him, the Lord manifests His righteousness as light and His justice as the fullness of day. When God visited Abraham at the oak of Mamre, it was also midday (See Gen. 18:1 (LXX)), and from the Lord's presence, a perpetual light radiated to him. Thus, it was also noon when the true Joseph entered his home to share a meal. The day becomes increasingly illuminative with the administration of the sacraments.
