If you remove this boy from my presence and something unfortunate occurs to him, it will cause my old age to mourn to the grave. Given our father's deep affection for this child, how can we present ourselves to him without the boy?
If you take this also, and any thing befall him in the way, you will bring down my grey hairs with sorrow unto hell.
וּלְקַחְתֶּ֧ם גַּם־אֶת־זֶ֛ה מֵעִ֥ם פָּנַ֖י וְקָרָ֣הוּ אָס֑וֹן וְהֽוֹרַדְתֶּ֧ם אֶת־שֵׂיבָתִ֛י בְּרָעָ֖ה שְׁאֹֽלָה׃
