Jephthah communicated to them the essentiality of his engagement in battle, explaining that he had sought their assistance but had been met with silence. He emphasized that through his own peril and the grace of God, he achieved triumph. Furthermore, he insisted that they should not confront the tribesmen without first standing firm against the foreigners.
