Additionally, the Hebrews, having violated God's commandments and worshipped other deities, found themselves stripped of divine guidance. Consequently, the all-knowing Lord chose not to completely eradicate the Canaanite nations, permitting many to reside near the Hebrews. This allowed the Hebrews, confronted and subjugated by these people, to recognize the consequences of their unfaithfulness and seek the Lord, who had redeemed them, thereby gaining His assistance. I assert this not from mere speculation, but as evidenced by history itself, as I will demonstrate. "Therefore enjoy what you have desired, and gather the harvest from what you have sown; for those who escape death in battle will not cease to fight against you, and their gods will enslave your souls."
