What is the significance of the phrase, "Let not the earth be angry with you when it defiles you, as it was angry with the tongues of those who were before you"? The Lord states, "Let not the land be despised by you, as it was despised by the Canaanites," emphasizing that just as He granted their territory to you due to their numerous transgressions and ultimately brought judgment upon the Canaanites, so too will you face punishment if you commit similar offenses.
