Some believe that the commandments found in the Old Testament are harsher than those in the New Testament; however, this view reflects a limited understanding. In the Law, the focus is not on punishing mere frugality but rather on addressing theft; for an unjustly acquired item must be returned four times over. In contrast, the wealthy individual is rebuked not for appropriating someone else's possessions, but for failing to offer his own (See Mark 10:21-23).
