Isidore of Seville

In ancient tradition, a groom desiring to separate from his bride symbolically removed his shoes, which indicated the dissolution of their union. Consequently, he refrained from wearing shoes near the church, reserving this act for Christ, the true bridegroom. The blessing pronounced by the ten elders illustrated that the nations of the Gentiles received salvation and were all blessed in the name of Christ. The term 'jot,' which means ten in Greek, is also the initial letter of the name of the Lord Jesus, affirming that through Him, all nations are saved and blessed. Therefore, let no one question these truths, as history reveals that the ancestors of all were reflections of their descendants.

Everything was accomplished at the arrival of the Lord, and by the proclamation of truth, all was fulfilled abundantly. Additionally, the 'images' presented in the Holy Scriptures bear witness to the promises fulfilled by His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is our King, Redeemer, and Saviour, deserving of honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.
