When she had experienced this affliction, and God had fulfilled her request, she shared this blessing with the priest, desiring him to join in her gratitude, just as he had joined her in prayer. She declared, ‘I sought the Lord for this child, and He granted me my request, all that I asked of Him.

Samuel was requested from the Lord and consecrated to the Lord. Samuel, the prophet and leader of the people of Israel. The blessed Hannah, his barren mother, had requested him from the Lord with tears and sacrifices.
