There is no question that human will cannot stand against the divine will, for the Lord accomplishes His desires both in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in the depths (Psalm 134:6), and He has fulfilled what is yet to come (cf. Isaiah 45:11). Human will cannot hinder Him from achieving His intentions; indeed, it is through human will that He brings about His purpose. Consider Saul as an example. When it was God's will to appoint Saul as king over Israel, could the Israelites choose to follow or reject Saul? In a manner, yes; yet they could not do so in a way that would contradict God Himself. The Lord executed His will through the will of the people, exercising His sovereign power to guide their hearts as He wished.

It is recorded: And Saul also went to his house in Gibeah; and brave men accompanied him, whose hearts the Lord had touched. However, certain worthless men questioned, Is he the one to save us? They scorned him and offered no gifts; yet he paid no mind to their contempt. Truly, none would claim that those whose hearts were moved by the Lord did not follow him. Likewise, one cannot assert that those unworthy individuals whose hearts were untouched by the Lord were with him.

When the Lord desires something to be realized through humanity—except for a few who wholeheartedly wish for the same—the hearts of those who are inclined will be steered in the appropriate direction by the Lord, who, in a miraculous and unfathomable manner, works within us and stirs the will as if it were unrelated to the matter at hand.
