As he pondered these thoughts, the Lord spoke to Nathan the prophet, who then conveyed the message to the king. In this divine revelation, God declared that David would not be the one to construct a house for Him. He noted that for a period, He had not instructed anyone from among His people to build Him a house made of cedar, saying, “Thus say unto My servant David...”
