God assures the people of Israel that He will rescue them from the evil of the Egyptians and lead them into the land of Canaan: I will bring you out of the wickedness of Egypt into the land of Canaan. In the book of Numbers, God Himself swears that none will be honored with the promised land. Num. 14:23 Indeed they shall not see the land which their fathers swore to them.

This reveals that God's promises were fulfilled, although not for all descendants, but for some tribes within Abraham's lineage. This was realized during the era of Joshua, who, by divine command, conquered the entire territory and allocated it as an inheritance to Israel, distributing it among the tribes. Additionally, it is important to understand that God intended to free the Israelites from Egyptian oppression on the condition of their obedience to His commandments in all matters. However, since they repeatedly failed to meet this expectation, demonstrating persistent disobedience to their Creator, they could not enter the promised land. Consequently, due to God's righteous judgment, they wandered in the wilderness and faced destruction from various calamities.
