You are to carefully dismantle these elements, meaning you should eradicate in your soul the weaknesses of the flesh and the material aspects, striving to elevate them into the spiritual realm. In doing so, you will align them rightly in the vision within the tabernacle; from this point onward, I will be revealed to you there. When you draw near to perfect communion and are purified, you will be deemed worthy to enter the Holy of Holies and gain a deeper understanding of God. It is said, you will set these matters correctly before the eyes of God; from this time forward, I will be known to you.

19th centuryCommentator

Irrespective of the application of the incense, as mentioned in verse 7 of this chapter, the entire area between the ark of revelation and the veil, as well as between the veil and the altar of incense, was anointed with incense. This symbolically represented the connection between the altar of incense and the location where the Lord would reveal Himself. Importantly, it is highlighted that "it is a great sanctuary." In reference to the world, it is stated simply, "it is a sanctuary."
