From the moment the Israelites emerged from Egypt, they recognized that the cloud pillar represented the presence of the Lord. Thus, they comprehended the importance of the tabernacle of meeting that Moses established outside the camp. This served as an ongoing lesson for the people, aimed at instilling awareness of their own fallen nature. As Moses moved from the camp toward the tabernacle and the cloud descended, the entire assembly remained by their tents, and upon seeing the cloud, they prostrated themselves before it before resuming their daily tasks. It is likely that Moses conveyed this guidance to the congregation.
