The heavy hail is indeed remarkable. While hail is not an uncommon occurrence in Egypt during the winter season, this event was predicted to occur in February, two months prior to the Exodus. The extraordinary nature of this event lay in its unprecedented intensity; as Holy Scripture notes, "the like of it had never happened in Egypt," and it happened precisely as Moses declared.
