It was not your dire lack of essentials that led you to this shameful act; for even as you possessed all the blessings and relished my gifts, you presented what I bestowed upon you as an offering to false gods. Consequently, you resemble a bride who, bound to her spouse, forsakes her beauty for other suitors, squandering what is rightfully her husband's and bestowing it upon those who do not cherish her.
