I am the Lord. The fulfillment of these words is assured: it will happen, and I will act, and I will neither act gently nor remain silent. It will not be the case that I will deliver some while sparing others; rather, all will face the impending dangers. Moreover, God demonstrates the righteousness of the punishment. According to your conduct and your intentions, I will bring you to account, declares Adonai, the Lord. He elaborates further on this: Therefore, I will judge you based on your intentions and your blood; I declare you unclean, and I will judge you worthy of great wrath. By your sinful actions, you have gained notoriety, says God; the root of your transgressions is your inclination toward wicked thoughts.
