The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

I will not show you compassion, and I will not hold back my judgment. When we surpass the limits of wrongdoing and render our condition irreparable, we forfeit God's grace. I will direct your path upon you, and your detestable acts will be upon you, and you shall be burdened, for I am the Lord. The deepest solace for those who face discipline lies in understanding the God who administers that discipline.
