Let us reflect on the significance of the judgment distinguishing the sheep from the lambs, and how the Good Shepherd, entrusted with all judgment by the Father, carries out this discernment. “Behold, I myself,” He declares, “judge between the fat and the lean sheep, or between the strong and the weak.”

For this reason the Sovereign declares to Adonai, ‘Look, I am among you, and I will distinguish between the powerful sheep and the feeble sheep.’ He then discusses the courage of the strong.
