The Church Fathers on this verse

One Church Father comments on this verse

Theodoret of Cyrus

5th centuryChurch Father

I will render Mount Seir barren and desolate. He will then declare the extent of its desolation. I will remove from it both man and beast, ensuring that none will come or go. This signifies profound desolation, meaning that not only will there be an absence of residents in Seir, but also no travelers will pass through. God also predicts how He will eradicate its inhabitants.
