The blood signifies connection, not conflict. He states that if you have waged war against your relatives, it is just that he will likewise wage war against you, and among the relatives you despised, I will create enmity for you. The kinsfolk of the Idumeans are the Jews, as they trace their lineage back to two brothers: one from Edom, or Esau, and the other from Jacob, also known as Israel.
