For this reason, declare and proclaim, thus says the Lord to Adonai: Hence, be a source of devastation for all the nations and for all your surrounding communities, so that you may possess all the diverse languages, and come to be a subject of scorn and derision. After announcing severe and distressing judgments to the Idumeans, He shifts His address to the mountains of Israel, revealing to them the promise of blessings, and urging them to remain steadfast, for the words uttered by their adversaries are false and meaningless. The state of desolation will not endure; I, says God, will bring to light the insults of your neighboring nations and will put an end to their arrogance against you, and they will no longer speak of your troubles or publicize your afflictions.
