God once more directs the prophet to declare a message about Gog and the nations allied with him; for, under God’s authority, they will arise from the far north to face just retribution for their wickedness. Additionally, He foretells their eventual helplessness. He declares, "I will pluck up thy bow out of thy left hand, and thy arrows out of thy gum hand" (Ezekiel 39:4). Furthermore, He states, "And I will smite thee upon the mountains of Israel, and thou shalt fall, thou, and all them that are round about thee, and many Gentiles that are with thee"—indicating that He will diminish their might, causing the weapons they wield to drop from their hands. Moreover, God proclaims that Gog will be left for the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth.
